About
Maggie Li is an illustrator and art director based in London. She studied illustration at Kingston university graduating in 2010. Since then she has worked extensively in the illustration industry with a focus on editorial illustration and in more recent years, children’s picture books.
Some of Maggie’s illustrated titles include the popular ‘Big City Atlas’, award winning ‘Dinosaur Detective’ as well as her most recent ‘What Do Scientists Do All Day’ published by Quarto in 2020. Her first authored and illustrated books ‘Little Life Cycles: Pip’ and ‘Drip’ will be published by Templar in February 2022. All of her books are available from the shop section and come signed and dedicated.
Maggie is also art director at popular children's publication OKIDO magazine. She oversees the design and illustration in the magazine as well products, marketing and content creation. Her favourite part of the role is designing board games and thinking up fun and inventive recipes for kids.
Some of her favourite illustrators include: Taro Gomi, Alain Grée, Dave Mckee, Richard Scarry, Isabelle Arsenault, Helen Borton and Bruno Munari. Her favourite picture book as a child was Elmer.
